Learner Testimonial - Michele Dazel

One of our learners on a Diploma level 2 in Health and Social Care has kindly written to us about her excellent experience with one of our qualifications assessors Hannah Appleby.

We received this testimonial from one of our learners on a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care with us, and Hannah Appleby as her assessor

This is a great example of some really positive feedback, and we're very proud to have received it as it shows how learners can flourish and succeed with the right support in place:

"I just wanted to say what a lovely experience I’ve had in completing my Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care with UTS. My assessor Hannah really supported me and gave me so much confidence, as I was so nervous about doing it and really struggled with the assignments at the beginning. I told Hannah this and she gave me so much support,  and one evening she spent nearly 3 hours with me on the phone supporting me and explaining the assignments. I appreciate that she had probably been at work all day, but she supported me and offered advice and where I could look information up. She was really friendly and I felt that I could speak to her without any problems.

When I started the qualification I told Hannah that I had got a new job and wanted to be finished by the time I left my old job, and she went above and beyond to support me to do this. Other people at my work couldn't believe that I completed mine so quickly, and this has given me so much confidence, especially now I’m starting my new role. Hearing this they also said that they wanted to do their qualifications now with UTS!

I felt there needed to be some extra recognition for Hannah’s efforts, even though when I've seen her she said UTS are really supportive to her. I will recommend UTS to my new manager as I would definitely recommend UTS in the future, and will possibly take a dementia award for my new role or even my level 3 diploma.

I honestly could not have got through the qualification without her help. I come from a company that didn’t often recognise hard work and effort, so I think that it was important for me to send this. At first I did not want to do my diploma, but with Hannah's support and effort, I am so glad that I did.

I am excited to start my new role and owe a massive thank you to Hannah and UTS for everything.  I have become a lot more confident and I feel a lot happier.  Hannah also said that she will take a photo of me with my certificate when I get it in celebration of my own hard work, and I’m really pleased about that.

Thanks again,

Michele Dazel"

Our thanks go to Michele for sharing her positive experience with us, and to Hannah for doing an amazing job as a qualifications assessor with UTS

Pilot Schemes

For large organisations wanting to roll a programme out across the whole staff team, you may want to consider setting up a pilot programme prior to full implementation. We have worked with many customers on pilot projects to ensure programmes meet all required objectives and any change are made from lessons learned prior to full implementation.

The Care Act 2014, together with a range of regulations and statutory guidance, is the base upon which social care will develop over the next few decades. It enshrines the new statutory principle of individual wellbeing, the driving force behind the Act, and makes it the responsibility of local authorities to promote wellbeing when carrying out any of their care and support functions.

The Care Certificate is an induction programme that will provide clear evidence to employers, patients and people who receive care and support, that the health or social care worker who is supporting them has been assessed against a specific set of standards and has demonstrated they have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to ensure that they provide compassionate and high quality care and support.
