This course will support managers to gain an insight into the importance of effective communication. Effective communication is an important skill for an effective leader, and during the course learners will learn the importance of effective communication, the appropriate use of communication techniques and how these can be embedded into their workplace effectively.
Managers will be encouraged to reflect on their own communication skills and how these are perceived by others, and how to develop these with the production of an action plan to achieve their goals, with clear timelines to achieve their actions.

Possible barriers to communication and methods to overcome them
Ways to ensure effective communication in the workplace
Different types of communication and their advantages and disadvantages
Active listening skills
Significance of non-verbal communication and body language
Techniques of face to face and indirect communication and when each is appropriate
Using feedback to check effectiveness of communication
Assessing and developing own communication skills through feedback and reflection
