The aim of this course is to develop understanding and ability in developing and leading teams, as required by a practising or potential middle manager. Managers will look at what it takes to lead an effective team and how you can get the best out of your staff by understanding the importance of the role as a leader, both personally and from the view of the team.
The course will identify the key characteristics of effective leaders, rating themselves against them and establishing key actions to develop the skills to become an effective leader.

Characteristics of groups and teams, team membership and leadership
The importance of direction and values in creating effective teams
Stages in team development, use of team roles for building a balanced team
Management and leadership styles and qualities
Understand coaching techniques
