Course overview

This course has been developed to enable learners to gain knowledge of what dementia is, the different causes of dementia and how others can have an impact on the individual with dementia. This course will give learners an insight into the impact of dementia on individuals with Down’s Syndrome and will explore ways in which they can support these individuals in a person centred way.

This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:
Fact sheets for research activities, group discussions, small group activities, action planning and DVD clips.
