The Care Certificate 5 day Programme

Course overview

The Care Certificate is the key component of the overall induction which an employer must provide legally and in order to meet the essential standards as set out by the Care Quality Commission.
The Care Certificate will provide clear evidence to employers, patients and people who receive care and support, that the health or social care worker who is supporting them has been assessed against a specific set of standards and has demonstarted they have the skills, knowledge and behaviours to ensure that they provide compassionate and high quality care and support.
Within this programme, 5 full days of training will be delivered to staff:
Introduction to the Care Certificate, Communication and Handling Information
Safeguarding Adults and Children and Work in a Person Centred Way
Health and Safety, Infection Control and Basic Life Support
Equality and Diversity and Privacy and Dignity
Fluids and Nutrition and Awareness of Mental Health, Dementia and Learning Disability
Following each session a full resource pack for each subject will be provided for further reading plus a full certificate will be issued for each subject covered.
Throughout the 5 days, the outcomes for standards 1, 2 and 3 are embedded into the delivery – Understand your Role, Duty of Care and Personal Development. Learners will be provided with additional resources to support them to complete the knowledge for these standards following the 5 day programme.
The Six C’s are also discussed throughout each session and embedded into delivery.
