Course overview

This course has been developed to raise awareness of Learning Disabilities within the Health and Social Care sector. It will provide staff with the knowledge they need to support individuals within their own environment. The course will explore the changes within the sector and how advanced the sector has now become with supporting people within the community. It looks at being person centred and how to empower individuals to contribute to their care and support, and the importance of working within a multi-agency approach and family support.  
This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:

Explain how views and attitudes impact on the lives of individuals with learning disabilities and their family carers
