Course overview

This course has been developed for learners who have either previously attended Safeguarding Adults at Risk training and who need to refresh and update their knowledge, or for staff whose job role requires them to have some basic knowledge of safeguarding. This course is aimed at those working in a wide range of settings including residential care homes, hospitals and working within the community in peoples own homes. 
This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:
Current news articles, self-assessment, group discussions and small group activities.

Managing our own feelings
Promoting positive practice

Describe how to respond to suspected or alleged abuse
State the national and local context of safeguarding and protection from abuse
List ways to reduce the likelihood of abuse
Describe how to recognise and report unsafe practices
