This course has been developed to provide learners with an update of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. It will help challenge staff in the way they think around what could be seen as a deprivation of liberty and making sure there are adequate safeguards in place. This will support them to inform and involve an individual they support to make decisions about their lives. This course will explore how this act will affect them and their practice and the individuals that they support.
This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:
Scenarios, case studies, group discussions and small group activities.
