Course overview

This course has been developed as a refresher course for those who have already attended a full days training session. It is aimed at staff who work with or come into contact with children and young People. Learners will be able to evaluate current practice and identify areas of change that their practice may require.
The aim of this course is to ensure all staff attending will gain the knowledge required to be able to ensure that every child, regardless of their age, gender, religion or ethnicity, can be safeguarded and protected from harm.
This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:
Group discussions, small group activities and scenario based activities
This course has been developed and mapped to:
Government Guidance – Working Together to Safeguard Children
The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
Guide to the children’s homes regulations including the quality standards
And the following QCF units:
Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health and Social Care
Understand how to Safeguard the Wellbeing of Children and Young People
