Course overview

This course has been developed to support learners to gain the knowledge and skills required to Protect and Safeguard Adults at Risk within their role as a Manager. Learners will understand the actions they are required to take and the procedures they are to follow within the legislative framework. The session will support Managers to implement new legislation and support individuals to develop the confidence to manage their own risks and demonstrate how partnership working can achieve the best possible outcomes.
It is aimed at Managers working in a wide range of settings including residential care homes, hospitals and managing teams within the community. 
This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:
Example care & support plans, risk assessments, case studies, group discussions, small group activities, example policies and DVD clips.

Safeguarding Adult reviews
Protocols and referral procedures
Assessing risks and informed choices
Providing information to other professionals
Feedback to others on practice
Effective and consistent report writing and handling information
How to support the participation of Adults at Risk in review systems
Evaluate effectiveness of systems and procedures
Challenge ineffective practice to promote safeguarding
Recommend proposals for improvements in the system
