This course has been developed to enable managers to understand the value of performance management techniques and how to apply them in a fair and objective manner when carrying out effective performance reviews of their team using the formal appraisal process. Managers will explore their responsibilities in the performance management cycle and how to structure and conduct appraisals to maximise the value the meeting.
The session will explore SMART objective setting, how to set performance standards, measuring performance against agreed standards for team members including underperformers and achievers, the importance of feedback to improve performance, and meeting timelines.
