Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
This Award will provide those who carry out assessments and internal quality assurance with the opportunity to develop and improve their practice.
The knowledge only unit, Understand the Principles and Practices of Assessment, also allows anyone who is not a practitioner, but is interested in knowing more about assessment and quality assurance, to acquire knowledge and information about the processes.
Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
Understand the principles and requirements of assessment
Understand different types of assessment method
Understand how to plan assessment
Understand how to involve learners and others in assessment
Understand how to make assessment decisions
Understand own contribution to quality assurance of assessment
Understand how to manage information relating to assessment of occupational competence
Understand the legal and good practice requirements in relation to assessment
Learners will be required to provide primary evidence which must come from the learner assessor assessing two real learners on two occasions in a real work environment against standards/criteria that are approved by the organisation.
The unit covers seven assessment methods in total and the learner assessor must show that they have covered a minimum of three of these assessment methods in their real practice.
This will all be assessed by a member of the Unique Training Solutions assessment team and will go through the UTS quality assurance process.
All of the assessment criteria must be met for all of the units to achieve the full qualification.
