24 credits from the 9 mandatory units in Group A
Introduction to communication in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
Introduction to personal development in health, social care or children's and young people’s settings
Introduction to equality and inclusion in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
Introduction to duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings
Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
The role of the health and social care worker
Implement person centred approaches in health and social care
Contribute to health and safety in health and social care
Handle information in health and social care settings
A minimum of 2 credits and a maximum of 7 credits from the optional units in Group B
This is where learners will be able to select a more specialist pathway for their Diploma, either in Learning Disabilities or Dementia, however a generic pathway can also be taken
A minimum of 15 credits from the optional units in Group C
The units chosen from this Group will be based on what the learner’s current role is and what type of service provision they work in.
Competency and knowledge make up these units and the assessor will carry out observations of practice in the learner’s place of work
Performance also runs through the qualification and therefore observation of practice will be carried out in the work place.
Learners will also need to produce self-reflective accounts, take part in professional discussions and provide a range of work products.
The workbooks will be assessed by a member of the Unique Training Solutions team and will go through the UTS quality assurance process.
All of the assessment criteria must be met for all of the units to achieve the full qualification.
