Course overview

This course has been developed to provide learners with the knowledge and skills required to support individuals who have been diagnosed with an incurable illness to live well. This course is suitable for learners who work within a range of Health and Social Care settings including residential, nursing and in their own homes within the community. Palliative Care can be provided from time of diagnosis or later on in their illness. End of Life Care is given to patients with a life limiting, incurable disease and are in the last year of life.
This course is delivered using a range of methods and resources including:
Condition fact sheets for research activity, scenarios, group discussions, small group activities and self-assessment.
