Experience of delivering training or assessing is a benefit but not essential as we are able to develop you to achieve training or assessing qualifications through our own qualifications centre. What is important is that you possess the right experience, qualifications and competencies within the sector and have a real passion for developing the skills of others.

Our teams are made up of social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses, registered managers and people who have gained extensive experience across the sector.

Health and Social Care Trainers Wanted

We're recruiting to expand our team of professional Health and Social Care trainers.

Overview

As a national provider of training and qualifications, we have built and excellent reputation in being a provider of quality programmes over the last 13 years and we have a strong customer base ranging from national care providers, local authorities and charities, through to smaller care homes and individual employers and their PA’s.

We are endorsed with Skills for Care as one of their Recognised Providers which demonstrates our absolute commitment to the quality of our provision to our customers, our learners and our staff.

Ideally applicants will have a strong background health and social care and who have ideally worked within a specialist area such as Learning Disabilities, Dementia, Autism, Mental Health, End of Life, Clinical, Health and Safety, Leadership or Back Care.

We employ trainers from many backgrounds such as care managers, social workers, OT’s, physiotherapists and nurses and at many different levels. What is important is that applicants can demonstrate a high level of knowledge in health or social care, they can demonstrate excellent care practice and they have the right passion and values for this role.

Although some experience in delivering training within this sector is preferred, consideration will be given to all applicants who do not have this experience, who are able to demonstrate a real desire to move into a role such as this and progress their career in this way.

Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive 3-month induction training programme into the role and will be supported to achieve an Award in Education and Training should teaching and training qualifications not already be held.

 

Job Purpose

The role of the Health and Social Care Trainer is to deliver a range of effective learning programmes to varying levels of staff working within the Health and Social Care Sector.

You will report directly to the training manager and you will form part of our specialist subject teams.

You will be delivering training courses to our learners in mandatory subjects such as Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Infection Control, Fire Safety, Medication, Equality and Diversity, Care Plans, Person Centred Support and Induction programmes, and depending on your background and capabilities, you will also be delivering training in your specialist areas such as Learning Disabilities, Autism, Dementia, Mental Health, End of Life, Clinical, Health and Safety, Leadership or Back Care.

The role could also include the research, design and development of new courses and keeping current content and materials fully up to date should this be an area of interest for someone but is not an essential part of this role.

 

The Person

The person will need to be someone with a real passion for the subjects they are delivering; demonstrating their own skills, experience and knowledge within their programmes. They will have a desire to improve care practice through delivering high quality training and they will motivate their learners by being engaging and inspiring. You will be innovative in your approach and will constantly be striving for improvements in the delivery of your programmes and the development of your resources.

The ideal person will be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be able to liaise with our customers professionally at all levels. They will also need to be well organised in all other areas of their job role to ensure that our customers receive all documentation at the time that it is required.

It is essential that UTS trainers are team players and work well as part of a team, demonstrating their support and commitment to their colleagues and the people they report to at all times.

The ideal person will have some experience of delivering training and hold a teaching qualification as well as CPD evidencing current knowledge in the subjects in which they deliver.

It is essential that all applicants hold a full driving license, have their own transport, are prepared to travel to a range of locations across the UK and from time to time stay away from home overnight if required.
